An excerpt from a current work in progress about Arria, a woman from Rome who was married to Caecina Paetus, a partisan who engaged in a rebellion against emperor Claudius in 42 AD and was sentenced to death. It was said that Arria picked up a dagger and stabbed herself with it in order to give her husband courage to commit the act.  We find them here, in their final moments together.
