when she met me, I was
lookin pretty dirty and ragged,
and she said, "I don't roll
that way," and I said, "you
might have a different
point of view, if you had
seen me back in the day,"
and she said, "let's see what
magic you can do," and
I proceeded to return to my
older, polished plumage;
wasn't always dirty and
ragged, baby, wasn't born
this way; it all happened
one day when I wasn't
lookin, and I ain't gonna
stay this way;
after my primpin and preenin,
I was lookin as good as you
please, and she was spendin
time on her knees, and we
were both of a different mind,
changed together, in ¾ time,
me pledgin to be hers, and
her pledgin to be around
most of the time;
wasn't always dirty and
ragged, baby, wasn't born
this way; it all happened
one day when I wasn't
lookin, and I ain't gonna
stay this way.
